This spell calls one shantak to your location. You must cast this spell outdoors, under an open sky; casting the spell indoors or underground causes it to automatically fail. After you have finished casting the spell, the shantak flies to the location you cast the spell, arriving in 1d12 hours. If you are not present when it arrives, it will leave immediately. You have no control over the shantak; you must negotiate with it (via Diplomacy) or use magical control to convince it to perform a service for you. The usual service requested of a shantak is to ride it to another planet.
